BookWorm (hereinafter “the Site”, “BookWorm”, “we”, or “us”) is a community-driven online platform that connects people across Switzerland to share and exchange second-hand books. BookWorm is free to use and does not handle any payments or financial transactions between users.
These Terms and Conditions apply to all services, content, and interactions available on the Site, as well as to all users (hereinafter “user” or “users”) who access or make use of BookWorm.
We continuously strive to improve BookWorm to best serve our community. We may, at any time and without prior notice, modify, suspend, or remove features of the Site. While we will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes, we are not obliged to do so.
The Site and its contents are provided “as is” and without any warranty. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content, whether provided by us or by users. Access and use of the Site are at the user’s own risk.
BookWorm may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or other reasons. We are not liable for any downtime or interruptions.
Although we work to prevent misuse of the Site, we cannot guarantee that all activity will comply with our terms. We disclaim any responsibility for illegal or inappropriate use by users.
Users agree to provide accurate, current, and complete personal information when registering or posting on the Site. Users must be at least 18 years of age.
Users may publish listings and other content (“User Content”) on the Site. Each user is solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and quality of the information they share. Users are also responsible for keeping backups of their own content. BookWorm accepts no liability for any data loss.
Users agree to use BookWorm responsibly and in accordance with Swiss law. In particular, users must not:
We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or applicable law, and to suspend or block user accounts at our discretion.
Users are solely responsible for their communication and interactions with others. BookWorm does not verify messages or exchanges between users, but reserves the right to remove or block communications that are abusive, illegal, or harmful.
BookWorm does not process, store, or facilitate payments between users. Any exchange of books or goods is handled privately and directly between users. We bear no responsibility for such transactions or the condition of exchanged items.
The BookWorm name, logo, and platform design are owned by BookWorm. Users retain ownership of their own uploaded content but grant BookWorm a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display and promote such content within the Site.
BookWorm adheres to Swiss data protection laws. Personal data is collected and processed only as necessary for the operation of the Site. We do not sell or share personal data with third parties.
To the extent permitted by law, BookWorm disclaims all liability for damages resulting from the use or inability to use the Site. Users are fully responsible for their activity and agree to indemnify BookWorm against any claims arising from their actions or content.
Both BookWorm and the user may terminate use of the Site at any time without notice. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site at our discretion. Updated Terms will be published on the Site and are effective immediately upon posting.
The Site may contain links to external websites. BookWorm has no control over such sites and accepts no responsibility for their content or practices.
These Terms are governed by Swiss law. Any disputes arising from the use of BookWorm shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the ordinary courts at the registered seat of BookWorm.
